Data Governance Steward

Our F100 client is looking for a Data Governance Steward to join their organization in a contract position with the potential for conversion to FTE. You’d be working as part of an effort to desgin and build multiple datawarehouses in Snowflake that will be storing HR-related data (being pulled from Workday HCM). While this is a fully remote position, all work must be performed in the US and would follow an ET schedule.

Day to day responsibilities

– Collaborate with developers on the IT side and with business analysts to capture information and data flow

– Gathering requirements from business customers and documenting them

– Use Data Mapping for core HR Data- such as: worker history, payroll, recruiting, and then taking those requirements and communicating this information to IT

– Data validations during Quality Assurance

– Activities such as data mapping (from old system (Peoplesoft) to new system (Workday)

– Understanding and working with data architect to design schemas

– Discussing nuances for definition in fields

– Interfacing with Workday to follow the data flow from data resource through the whole process

– Updating Data definitions

Required:

– Workday (cloud-based) enterprise management platform that unifies finance, human resources and planning for managing employees

– Snowflake (cloud-based data warehouse)

– SQL

– SAS (they would not be in SAS that often; they will not be running SAS jobs )

– Excel

– Tableau is not necessary, but knowledge of it would be helpful when speaking with certain individuals.

– Understanding Data governance principles: data quality, privacy, access and security

– Understanding HR processes and terminology

– Familiarity with PeopleSoft and more importantly – Workday Data Structures and their systems and functionalities
